2008 was another outstanding year
2008 St. Louis Auto Show Recap
The 2008 Auto Show was a great success. Many thanks go out to the manufacturers and local dealerships that participated. Thanks to them, the show featured amazing concept cars, including the Chrysler Nassau, the Suzuki Grand Dune Vitara and the much-anticipated Chevrolet Camaro. The show featured many 2008 models, like the BMW 1 Series Coupe and the Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid, as well as several 2009 models, including the Dodge Journey and the Ford Flex.
A special thanks also goes out to the St. Louis area Chrysler and Jeep dealers for providing the 2008 Chrysler Sebring convertible and 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4x4 for our Our lucky winner, Ken Castagna from Creve Coeur, MO, chose the 2008 Jeep Wrangler. Congratulations! We look forward to holding this giveaway again in 2009.
The popular Toyota Off Road On Site Adventure reigned supreme for the second year in a row. Featuring a newly designed outdoor obstacle course, show visitors got to test their driving skills behind the wheel of a Toyota 4x4 Tacoma, Tundra or FJ Cruiser. The course will only get better in 2009.
As always, the St. Louis Auto Show prides itself on providing something for every member of the family. In 2008, the event featured two live action shows with Curious George and Madeline. After each performance, the characters came out to greet the audience and sign autographs for the kids. For the soap opera fans, 2008 boasted meet and greets with two of the genre’s hottest stars, Rick Hearst (Ric Lansing on General Hospital) and Colin Egglesfield (Josh Madden on All My Children).
We didn’t forget about the classic car fans. Last year’s show featured the sole surviving 1920 Detroit Electric, a rare 1920 Briggs & Stratton Flyer Buckboard, a 1923 Auto Red Bug Electric Buckboard, a 1938 Cadillac "75" Series Fleetwood 7 Passenger Sedan, a 1951 Crosley Super Convertible and a 1959 Cadillac "75" Series Fleetwood Formal Limousine.
We’re not going to ruin any of the surprises we have in store for 2009, but we know you’ll want to check back often for teasers and updates as the next show approaches. If 2008 seemed like a great year, just wait until you come see us in 2009.
